CRJ-700 Pro 5 Systems Practice Test

In an abnormal situation, which crew actions are typically automated by the CRJ-700’s flight control systems?

Automatic engine relight and fuel balancing.

Stabilization, fault isolation assistance, and providing guidance cues or autopilot engagement if supported by the situation.

In abnormal situations, the flight control system's job is to keep the airplane stable and to assist the crew by diagnosing and guiding the response. On the CRJ-700, this automation works to stabilize the aircraft, help isolate or communicate faults to the flight crew, and, when the situation allows, provide guidance cues through the flight director or even engage the autopilot to maintain a safe flight path. This combination—stabilization, fault isolation assistance, and guidance or autopilot engagement when appropriate—is what the system is designed to do to manage abnormal events without requiring immediate, manual control from the crew.

Engine relight and fuel balancing are functions of the engine and fuel systems, not the flight control automation. Manual control override is not required in all abnormal situations since automation can assist or handle some abnormal conditions, depending on the scenario.

Manual control override is required in all abnormal situations.

None of the above.
